Hey there mama, how are you?

Good, fine, everything is fine…

Yeah, me too.

But are you really?

Or is that the answer you give because the truth is, you’re overwhelmed, worried and stressed out most of the time. Anxiety has taken over your life and stolen the joy of your motherhood.

Motherhood can do that, it has a way of making anxiety worse, you only thought you worried before having kids. Becoming a mom takes everything to a whole new level and you feel isolated, every decision is fear based and you’ve got a secret googling habit of researching until you’re sick. Your mind is full of what if’s and worse case scenarios. You feel helpless, alone and never present. You’re living inside your head. 

It’s so hard, isn’t it?

The worries about your children, your marriage, your health and pretty much everything you care about, take over actually enjoying your life. Every morning you hope today will be different and you won’t feel that weight, that darkness, that is so exhausting. It’s frustrating because you’re so blessed, and you love being a mother, so why do you let fear steal all of your joy? You don’t know what to do, you don’t how to fix it.

Do people really overcome this?

I believe every woman has the power to overcome anxiety and enjoy life. 

The Mama Harbor is a safe place for anxious mothers to learn courageous living. We’re a group of moms, just like you, who are learning daily a gentle yet bold approach to motherhood. You are the pulse of your family. You are the safe place where your people land. That my friend is a lot of pressure. Don’t drown in the waves, let this community be your safe place, your mothering harbor.

You can parent confidently, create a peaceful home, raise a thriving family and savor your time with them. You’re also allowed to enjoy the time you spend taking care of yourself and your marriage.

Imagine what it would feel like not to waste another second on anxiety, to stop worrying about things completely out of your control, to parent out of love and not fear. How different will your life be when you are present and free to be happy, content and live a life of purpose.

You’re smiling, you’re on the floor, playing with your kiddos in your clean, calm home. You don’t have that nagging voice in the back of your mind, you’re not struggling to control the fearful thinking. You’re free, you’re present, you’re busy living, laughing, and enjoying your life. You can live a life of abundance without strings attached. You were made for more than survival and living small. I promise you that.

After battling a two-year health crisis, my body was on the path to healing but mentally I was still in pretty bad shape. The anxiety that I had always struggled with had completely taken over my life and I found myself constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. Fear was stealing my joy, my motherhood, my marriage, and my faith. There was a heaviness on me and in our home, I was short-tempered and guilt-ridden. I wasn’t trusting in God’s plan for me, I was suffocating, and I felt powerless.

But I’m a fighter, y’all and I wasn’t about to let anxiety win, so I began to claw my way out of the trenches. I started by evaluating everything. I overhauled every area of my life. I was on a mission to eliminate negativity, reshape my beliefs, be in control of my thoughts and find freedom from the voice of fear.

What I learned was courageous living. What I found was peace. My mind became a safe place again, as I learned to change the recording in my head. I replaced fear, negativity, worry, and weakness with light, love, strength, and happiness. I feel like I can breathe again. My life, our home, and our family are entirely different.
